Focus Areas

Heat-treated timber and panels, bathroom furniture, and the connections and finishes that bring them together.

Overview

What we are developing.

Three connected areas of work, shaped by the same material approach.

Timber & Panels
01 In development

Timber & Panels

Heat-treated timber and wood panels developed with our own kiln, to be offered as a material group in their own right, independent of furniture.

Bathroom Furniture
02 In development

Bathroom Furniture

Wall-hung vanities, tall cabinets and wall panels: functional bathroom furniture that is easy to install and designed for a long life.

Connections & Finishes
03 Under evaluation

Connections & Finishes

Concealed connectors for fast assembly and reassembly, and natural-oil finishes that protect the surface while keeping the feel of real wood.

Material knowledge

What is heat treatment?

In thermal modification, wood is treated in a closed kiln with heat and steam, without chemical preservatives. The process permanently changes the structure of the wood, and its colour deepens through the whole cross-section.

No chemical additives

Only heat and steam are used. There is no chemical impregnation.

Colour through the board

The tone darkens through the whole board, not only on the surface, so cuts and edges keep the same colour.

A new relationship with moisture

According to the ThermoWood® literature, thermally modified wood takes up less moisture and moves less as humidity changes.

Where heat-treated wood is used

  • Façade cladding
  • Decking and terraces
  • Bathroom furniture
  • Interior wall panels
  • Garden and landscape
  • Pergolas and outdoor structures

Heat treatment · Thermal modification

From the tree to a deeper surface.

How heat changes the character of wood, from the raw board to a deep, even tone, in four steps.

  1. 01

    Raw material

From the texture of the tree to the cross-section of the timber. Everything starts with understanding the material.

  2. 02

    Controlled heat

The timber enters our kiln, where heat and steam are applied in a carefully controlled environment, without chemical additives.

  3. 03

    Surface character

The tone deepens and the grain becomes more visible. Final colour and properties are confirmed only through real samples.

  4. 04

    Direction of use

Heat-treated timber becomes slat panels, cladding and furniture surfaces with a calm, deep tone.

Tone scale

The deeper the treatment, the deeper the tone.

Heat treatment changes the colour of wood throughout the board, not only on the surface. Move along the scale to see how the tone deepens step by step.

Bathroom furniture

From the drawing board to the finished piece.

Our first furniture focus is the bathroom: wall-hung vanities, tall cabinets and wall panels in heat-treated wood. Concealed connections make them quick to install and easy to take apart; natural-oil finishes keep the character of the wood.

Surface approach

A finish that keeps the character of the wood.

Natural-oil-based surface applications are part of the protection approach we are evaluating — enriching tone and grain while preserving the feel of real wood.

  • Natural-oil-based finishing approach
  • Visible grain and a natural feel
  • Maintainable, renewable surface idea
